GNT(Good News Translation) 성경의 특징
1. 쉬운 영어 사용
GNT는 의역 방식으로 번역되었어요. 이는 원어(히브리어, 헬라어)의 단어를 직역하는 대신에 의미를 현대 독자들이 이해하게 쉽게 풀어쓴 방식입니다. 어려운 신학 용어나 고전적인 고어체를 사용하지 않고, 일상적인 어휘와 간결한 문장을 사용합니다.

2. 목적: 선교와 교육
GNT는 원래 1966년 Today’s English Version (TEV)라는 이름으로 신약성경이 먼저 출간되었고, 이후 1976년에 구약과 함께 전체 성경이 완성되었습니다. 선교용과 대중용으로 만들어졌기 때문에, 복음 전도와 성경 입문 교육에 적합하게 설계되었습니다. 오늘날 여러 기독교 교파에서 널리 사용되고 있는 버전입니다.
3. 문학적 표현보다는 명확성 우선
